Students

Students enrolling in the Dairy Science Program come from diverse backgrounds. Los Lecheros Dairy Club, sponsored within the Dairy Science Department, is one of the most active clubs on campus and has received numerous national awards. Involvement in the Dairy Club allows students additional opportunities to develop leadership skills, interact with faculty and peers, and to develop contacts within the dairy industry. Cal Poly has long been renowned for its excellence in the development of dairy judging teams. The Dairy Club helps to support participating student expenses in their travels throughout the country. Students may participate in either dairy cattle or dairy products judging. The Department offers a number of internships and student exchange programs.
